TREK: Teens Reaching out to Expand the Kingdom

Welcome to TREK

“TREK” stands for “Teens Reaching out to Expand the Kingdom.”  It’s a program designed to give Journey high schoolers (age 14 and up) the opportunity to serve Journey and the community while developing leadership skills.  High School students who are involved as a student (or TA) in 2 out of 3 Journey class sessions are eligible to apply to be part of TREK.

TREK follows a three-fold approach:

  1. UPWARD – connecting more with the Lord and learning about His purpose for your life
  2. INWARD – serving the Journey community through mentoring, projects, fundraising
  3. OUTWARD – serving the greater community through outreach projects and community events.

TREK meetings are every other week at a designated time/location for about an hour.  Attendance at TREK meetings and service on committees is expected with membership.Applications are accepted through the second week of classes during Fall and Winter class sessions.  Follow the appropriate link to the application to either be considered for NEW MEMBERSHIP or to RENEW your membership.

Our TREK Advisors are:

  • Beaverton – Lauren Bowen
  • Portland – Gail Budde
  • Vancouver/Vancouver East – Angel Reuther
