Here are a few things to be aware of:

1.) We have changed our “Beginning Dance, “Beginning Voice,” and “Beginning Drama” classes to be “Foundations of…” classes. They are still our CORE CLASSES that serve as prerequisites for continuing on to other classes. If you have taken DA100, V100, and/or DR100 in the past, your prerequisite for the appropriate series has been met. These classes are comparable to collegiate “survey” courses so we have adopted a new “090” numbering for them.

2.) Classes listed with a * have prerequisites.  Please read the class description for details before registering.

3.)  We have taken big strides towards further developing our 100-level classes so as to really lay a solid educational foundation for 200-level classes and beyond. If you have a question as to whether you meet the prerequisites for a class you’d like to take, please email the Journey Registrar, Beth Maxwell, at b.maxwell@journeytheater.org

4.) Remember to list your second choice of class!

V090 Foundations of Voice (ages 8-18)

In this interactive class, students will learn the fundamental concepts and training of the voice, learn proper posture and breathing techniques, phrasing and how to stay on pitch. Students will develop the confidence they need to perform solos in showcase through an encouraging learning environment.

PR103 Props (ages 8-18)

This hands-on class will give students a new creative outlet and appreciation for behind-the-scenes elements of theater. The presence of Stage Properties (Props) is critical to theatrical story telling. Students will learn the value of props for stage acting and for set dressing as well and be able to gain first hand experience in making props of their own.
